New Jersey State Police recently charged three people for an alleged kidnapping and robbery, per social media. And it all began last December in Cumberland County. One evening a few days before Christmas, the purported victim left his home with a friend. During the departure, two masked men allegedly appeared. Brandishing handguns, the anonymous assailants accosted the victim and the friend. But they directed the friend to leave. And she complied. Nothing in the news release, however, indicates the friend reported any of this to police. Next, the men allegedly commanded the victim to hand over the cash in his possession. And he complied. Winslow Township cops arrested two people on drug charges and a third on weapons offenses after a weeks-long investigation. Narcotics officers executed search warrants at two homes following investigations into drug sales there. And they allegedly found cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, packaging materials and more than $1,600 in cash. Additionally, they allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun and a defaced .22-caliber rifle in a vehicle. Consequently, the cops charged the various people with CDS distribution in a school zone, and the following crimes:
- possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance,
- cocaine possession,
- marijuana possession,
- oxycodone possession,
- maintaining a manufacturing facility,
- unlawful possession of a weapon, and
- possession of a defaced firearm.
A former captain of the Princeton University swim team who allegedly had a shotgun will enter Pretrial Intervention (PTI), per nj dot com. Indeed, Mercer County prosecutors said he will undergo three years supervision, a psychological evaluation, and complete 40 hours of community service. A few months earlier, Princeton cops charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon after confiscating the alleged shotgun. Cranford cops charged three men with crimes on New Year’s Day, per nj dot com. During a car stop, the cops found suspected cocaine and marijuana, and an alleged handgun, per the news. Consequently, the cops charged the driver and one friend with cocaine possession, marijuana possession under 50 grams, drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of a handgun. Additionally, they charged the driver with careless driving, driving with a suspended license, and CDS possession in a motor vehicle. Finally, they charged the third man with marijuana possession under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia possession.
Police in Burlington City, New Jersey, arrested a Florence man who, they allege, pistol-whipped another man. Indeed, news reports indicate the suspect struck a 51-year-old man across the face with a gun. While failing to give a motive, the cops claim the suspect “specifically targeted” the victim.
