New Jersey authorities recently arrested one of their own. Indeed, last month they charged a thirteen-year veteran with false representation in firearm applications. Additionally, authorities allege he lied about alcoholism on an application for a handgun purchaser’s permit. Moreover, the officer completed the applications in his hometown police department. Furthermore, he allegedly answered no to the question: Are you an alcoholic?¹ But authorities allege he had previously admitted an alcohol problem to a superior officer. Consequently, the charges against the officer delineate two counts of knowingly providing a false answer to a question on the official form used to apply for a handgun permit and/or a firearms purchaser identification card, per the news. Cops from Lakehurst, New Jersey, recently charged a woman with defrauding the administration of a drug test, among other offenses. It all started on a recent Sunday afternoon. A cop stopped a motor vehicle for an alleged broken brake light. For reasons omitted by the news release, the cop searched the vehicle. Subsequently, he found methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA or Molly), a syringe, drug paraphernalia, and a bottle of urine, per the news. Marijuana Use or Being Under the Influence, N.J.S.A. 2c:35-10

Officers in Hoboken, NJ, recently charged a suspect with various offenses, including marijuana use or being under the influence. It all began when the cops saw the subject walking with a woman one night on a Hudson County street, per nj dot com. Indeed, the cops claim they saw the subject take out an item, manipulate it, light it, and smoke it.¹ But the news does not reveal what he removed the item from. Nevertheless, the cops claim the odor of marijuana increased as they approached the man.² Additionally, the man allegedly tried to hide one item between two parked cars and another item in his jacket when he saw the cops approach. CDS Distribution in a school zone, N.J.S.A. 2c:35-7

Winslow Township cops arrested two people on drug charges and a third on weapons offenses after a weeks-long investigation. Narcotics officers executed search warrants at two homes following investigations into drug sales there. And they allegedly found cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, packaging materials and more than $1,600 in cash. Additionally, they allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun and a defaced .22-caliber rifle in a vehicle. Consequently, the cops charged the various people with CDS distribution in a school zone, and the following crimes:

Heroin Possession, N.J.S.A. 2c:35-10

Like fish trapped in a barrel, four people in a Monroe Township home found themselves targeted by police during a raid this week. Indeed, the cops invaded the home and arrested four people after a five-month investigation. Along the way, they allegedly found heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana. Consequently, the cops charged the various individuals with heroin possession, cocaine possession, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, distribution/manufacture of heroin, distribution/manufacture of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

Atlantic City cops arrested a man for various crimes, including Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, at the Knights Inn. The cops also arrested two co-defendants. Additionally, a press release from the Atlantic City Police Department claims the cops recovered a handgun and drugs. While responding to a call about an altercation, the cops caught wind of the altercation. Indeed, the press release and the nj dot com describe the incident as a fight and an altercation.
